Even in yucky grey cubicles.
Yesterday afternoon, maintenance came and took my cubical and my huge over sized (but I loved it) desk and gave me a table to put my computer on...A 4ft table at that, and basically told me i get to live out of a box for another 2 or three weeks. Hmmmm sounds like a plan, I guess. See, my place of employment is doing a building wide remodel which includes moving my department from one side of the building to the complete opposite...its good for us because we get all new furniture and a brandy-new renovated storage space with a WALL OF WINDOWS. But like i said not for 2 or three weeks. Mind you the renovation has been on going since June when i started! In the mean time...I have to sit out in the open....I feel like I'm in a fish bowl, Everyone can see me and what I'm doing on my computer and if I'm picking my nose or if my socks don't match, or if I'm not doing exactly work on my computer. Ugh. Oh well, all in the name of progress.

hmm can i copy?
so after not being on line for a bit and deciding to try to catch up with some old pals and their lives and some of us I can say lack there of...i decided after reading that:
A. I'm a blog slacker. I started this blog with the purpose of letting you know and documenting for myself the trials and tribulations of me and my relationship...hmmm like I said I'm a slacker.
B. OR MAYBE I found other things to do and forgot about this thing.
C. I'm going back to my original themes and going to get my balls rolling ie..."you might need this"...Thankful Thursdays (something I would do on message boards thanks to OPRAH)...and thanks to another friend I think I'm going to have a joke day....lets start today.....
The other night I was invited out for a night with the 'girls.' I told my husband that I would be home by midnight , 'I promise!' Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily. Around 3 a.m. , a bit loaded, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hallway started up and cuckoo-ed 3 times. Quickly, realizing my husband would probably wake up, I cuckoo-ed another 9 times... I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution, in order to escape a possible conflict with him.(Even when totally smashed... 3 cuckoos plus 9 cuckoos totals 12 cuckoos = MIDNIGHT !)
The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, I told him ' MIDNIGHT '.. . he didn't seem ticked off in the least. Whew, I got away with that one! Then he said 'We need a new cuckoo clock.' When I asked him why, he said, 'Well, last night our clock cuckoo-ed three times, then said 'oh sh&%.' Cuckoo-ed 4 more times, cleared its throat, cuckoo-ed another three times, giggled, cuckoo-ed twice more, and then tripped over the coffee table and farted.
:)

Bike to the Bay 2008
Well, we survived. In one piece Im not sure how. Bike the Bay kicked my butt this year. I finished 2 hours later then I had planned. But, when the wind is blowing so hard your fastest peddel is only 8 mph you arent going to get very far. The first day we got stuck at the 50 mile marker and the tour was shut down, we were bussed out and bikes loaded on to a truck and we were dropped at the Port Clinton high school where the sun was shining bright. (figures)
the second day the wind made the ride no fun and we all consider quiting a many times that day...in the end finally rolling over the finish line...soaked by the rain or not was totally worth it.
Being team captain has its challenges as well. This year 18 people road the tour and 14 people stayed over night . Trying to keep everyone straight and together is like being a soriety mom. It was fun though dont get me wrong. I do believe the hotel smelled like a retirement comunity on saturday afternoon, Ice hot everywhere!

One day down and all is well...
I survived the first day. While I came home with a headache like I had been in class for eight hours I still like my new job. As it usually is the first day was a lot to take in. My very organized manager (which is a nice change) had my day planned out for me when I came in. A list of things to accomplish and read. On top of re introducing myself to one program and learning a whole new one.
At the start of the day a picture was taken of me at my desk for the "briefing". I was thinking it was a meeting of some sorts for all the managers or something like that. About 20 minutes later all the girls in my department were talking about me. Apparently a briefing is sent out everyday to brief everyone of the goings ons. So, for the rest of the day everyone knew who I was and had no qualms about introducing themselves. Especially in the lunch room.
It was a good start. maybe I might have to take some aspirin to work today.

#3 on the list of "you might need this"
For this addition of the list I shed a little light on the fact that during a class I took on investing...I did not pay attention.
Savings Bonds. They make a great gift for Baptisms, graduations, and Birthdays.
After being educated on the different kinds of Bonds you can purchase for the giftee, I have decided everyone and their dogs need one (well, dogs dont have social security numbers so I dont know how that would work)

where have you been?
This past Sunday I went to an event downtown at the docks. Some of you have heard of it.
I have to say its one of the best fundraisers I have been to. We ate some great food, and we tried a variety of wines from all over the world. Not only did I get to dress up and wear something other than sneakers (which came pretty hard on Sunday...the last time I wore a dress was my own wedding) I actually felt like a lady! It's nice getting compliments from people who see you everyday in your average cloths! (Supposedly I clean up pretty well!) After spending a few hours perusing the many restaurants under the American Rent All tents we were called inside to the Navy Bistro's event center and danced the night away to The Bridges. Oh it was fabulous evening and only hope that next year I can include this event in my social calendar!
